What Deimr collects about you, why, and what you can make us do about it. Written to be read - the legal wording is in the terms, this is the plain version and it is the one we hold ourselves to.
Who is responsible
What this means
Deimr is responsible for how your personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use our website, mobile application, products, and services.
Deimr acts as the controller of the personal data described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, complaints, or requests relating to your personal data, you can contact us at:
Email: data@deimr.com
Business address:85 Great Portland Street, First FloorLondon, W1W 7LTUnited Kingdom
Deimr is responsible for handling privacy-related requests concerning the platform and its services.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to contact the relevant data protection or privacy authority in your country or region.
What we collect
What this means
Your account details, what you bought, where an engineer is sending someone, and the conversations you have on the platform. Nothing about you is bought from anyone else.
| What | Why we have it | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, phone | To take an order and let an engineer reach you | While you have an account, then 3 years |
| Address | So an engineer can turn up at the right door | 6 years - invoices are kept by law |
| Payment details | Handled by our processor. We hold the last four digits and nothing else | 6 years on the invoice |
| Device and repair history | Warranty claims are argued from it | 6 years after the repair |
| Messages with engineers | Evidence if a repair is disputed | 6 years |
| Photos you send | Diagnosing the fault, and settling disputes | 6 years with the job |
| How you use the site | Finding where the site is failing people | New journey events: 90 days in Deimr. Aggregate reports may be kept longer; PostHog retention depends on the configured project. Collection requires consent. |
What engineers see
What this means
The engineer coming to your house sees your address, your phone number and the fault. They do not see your payment detail, your other repairs, or anything you bought.
An engineer assigned to your job is given your name, the address, a contact number and what you have said is wrong. That is what they need to arrive and fix it.
They cannot see your card details, your order history, your other bookings, or conversations you have had with anyone else. When the job closes and the warranty expires, their access to the address ends.
Engineers are independent, and they are joint controllers of the data we pass them for the purpose of doing your repair. They are contractually barred from using it for anything else - including contacting you directly for work outside Deimr.
Why we are allowed to
What this means
Mostly because you asked us to fix something, which is a contract. Marketing needs your consent and you can take it back. Fraud checks and keeping invoices are legal obligations.
| Purpose | Legal basis | Can you object? |
|---|---|---|
| Taking and completing an order | Performance of a contract | Not without cancelling |
| Keeping invoices | Legal obligation - German tax law | No - 10 years |
| Preventing fraud | Legitimate interest | Yes, and we will consider it |
| Marketing emails | Consent | Yes, one click, any time |
| Analytics cookies | Consent | Yes, in cookie settings |
| Recording disputes | Legitimate interest | Not while a claim is open |
What you can make us do
What this means
Get a copy of everything, correct it, delete it, or take it elsewhere. We answer within 30 days. Deletion has limits where money or law is involved.
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold on you and we will send a machine-readable file within 30 days. There is no charge.
You can have mistakes corrected, ask us to stop marketing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and ask for your account to be deleted.
Deletion is not absolute. We cannot delete an invoice - German law makes us keep it for ten years. We will not delete evidence in an open dispute until it closes. Where we cannot delete, we anonymise: the record survives, you are no longer attached to it.
Worth knowing
The one thing we will refuse: deleting an account with an open repair, unpaid balance or points still on it. Settle those first and then we will.
Who else gets it
What this means
The providers listed below receive the information needed for their service. Optional analytics processing requires your consent. We do not sell your data.
| Who | What they get | Where |
|---|---|---|
| The assigned engineer | Name, address, phone, the fault | EU |
| Whop | Billing and payment details | US and other countries |
| DHL | Name, address, parcel weight | EU |
| Our email provider | Email address and the message | EU |
| PostHog, when enabled with consent | Pseudonymous activity events; no session recordings or private form contents | EU |
| Nobody else | - | - |
Keeping it safe
What this means
Encrypted in transit and at rest, access limited to people who need it, and every admin who opens your record leaves a trace.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Deimr is limited by role, and every time an administrator reads a flagged conversation or opens a customer record it is written to an audit log that we cannot quietly edit.
If we suffer a breach that puts you at risk we will tell you within 72 hours of finding it, and we will tell you what actually happened rather than that an incident occurred.
